Client: Fairfax
Project: Graphic Design
Budget: $3,000
I worked with the Fairfax events team to create a visual identity for the Sydney Morning Herald Half Marathon – a fast, iconic run through the heart of the city.
The brief was simple: a look that feels energetic and Sydney-proud, and works just as powerfully on race bibs and medals as it does on banners, social posts, and the event website.
I designed a clean, modern system built around bold typography and a dynamic start-line graphic that captures the buzz of race morning. The colour palette – crisp whites, deep blues, and a hit of sunrise orange – nods to the harbour city and early starts.
Everything rolled out across print collateral, digital ads, merchandise, and signage, giving the event a cohesive, professional presence that still feels full of forward motion.
The SMH Half Marathon now looks as strong and confident as the runners who line up each year.
If your event needs a visual identity that moves with the same energy, I’d love to talk.
